As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Dr. Leighton is passionate about providing the necessary and much deserved support to breastfeeding women and their infants. As a mother of two children, both with oral restrictions, she has experienced firsthand the many challenges that can accompany the breastfeeding relationship between mother and child. Working with her own IBCLC, she was able to breastfeed both children until the age of two years.

  • Prenatal Breastfeeding Consultation and Class
    • Ideal for families that struggled with breastfeeding previously, complicated pregnancies, complex medical situations (for the parent or infant), families with multiples
    • This is a great option for families who want or require individualized support immediately prior to and following birth. Dr. Leighton is available via text/phone to all prenatal breastfeeding consultation clients until a comprehensive lactation consultation can be scheduled.
    • Discussion of personal goals for breastfeeding
    • Provide anticipatory guidance regarding past breastfeeding challenges or anticipated challenges
    • Develop an individualized plan to implement following birth
